Mood lighting and music...

...yep, it's study time.

So tonight was a way to catch up on calendars and blog posts. {including the incredible/convicting posts from desiring God and Gospel Coalition}

I want a man...not a silly boy, but a MAN
I want a dog
I want an old house downtown that can be fixed up - gotta have the old architecture
I want to just shop at Goodwill and Garage sales for the rest of my life finding quaint decor items, then...
I want to decorate forever
I want to be able to just sit and read for pleasure
I want to buy all the music I like and listen to it all the time while doing these things
I want a kitchen with fun appliances
I want a coffee shop job again
I want a lot of things.....

I'm clearly dissatisfied with a lot of things in my life...and it's all my own fault. I didn't listen to counsel around me for a year straight and therefore had an almost church discipline moment. When someone(s) sits down with you and reads Matthew 18, you better believe that you need to do some serious changing. {and that feeling of Matt 18 being read is scary}

I've always struggled with being lonely. I've never had that one best friend I can cling onto and is always faithful...or so I thought. I was putting all these expectations onto a friend that couldn't humanly fulfill them and that was wrong. Friends will: get busy, move away, have life happen, have a significant other, be the wrong significant other, etc.

but GOD...(how many times have I read that phrase in Scriptures??). But God, is ALWAYS, [and seriously always] Faithful. He's the ultimate best friend because of all of his amazing attributes. Why do I choose to focus on those measly things around me, when I have a mighty and SO BIG God to focus on?!? I constantly view God as too small to fulfill my plans, when He has a plan that I could never, ever come up with or create enough good out of. Maybe, Rachelle, you oughta learn your God better...yea sounds like a good plan!! Just focus on His LOVE. That in and of itself is miraculous. Even though I continually think of God as too little, he loves me immensely. I never have to wallow in my guilt or in my sin because of that love. Whoah! That's a big deal.

Dear Future Husband...

Dear Future Husband,

Just wanted to warn you (or more like caution you) that I make a MESS when I do the dishes. There will be water everywhere! So, when you almost fall because of this mess, please do remember that I did just do the dishes. :)

But I will have you know, that I clean up my messes pretty well.

Love love,
Rae

Also, this may or may not have happened to me in the past...

[please note, that (1)yes, I'm white, but it was the beginning of June. Cut me some slack and (2)that is Hannah, she's my bestest friend and I'm pretty sure we're in the works of sharing backyards, be prepared] :)

My Obsession

I have had an obsession for this chair for well over a year now. It is the PERFECT reading chair. The leather is super comfy and it sits low to the ground which is perfect for lounging. This beauty also has a longer seat allowing you to curl up with a good book in the afternoon sun. Plus, it goes along well with the style of my room. :) All of this is worth $2000, right? (I think not)

{I just love old men}
This week was/is finals week. Each morning for me consisted of brewing a pot of coffee and consuming lots of it! It pretty much was the only thing that got me through studying for psych. {Gosh, I hate that class.} I am definitely addicted to coffee and I love it. I'm pretty sure the guys in my OLS class think that I'm Lorelai Gilmore by now. [Apparently I get grumpy without my coffee] I am now starting to drink my coffee black more than normal. See, I'm such a coffee lover that I drink my coffee in many different ways. The fact that I'm drinking my coffee black now proves that summer is on it's way. I usually only drink coffee that way in the summer. The creamer gets a little too sweet for the warmer seasons.

Anyways, my birthday is next week and I'm excited! Mainly, because I'm getting this beauty...
As i was browsing for pictures of coffee, I came across this darling handmade coffee sleeve. Yes, I am in love {hint, hint}

So, yes this post is super random. Mainly, because I have sooo many thoughts in my mind that I can't figure out to make a nice, beautiful post containing it all. I'll leave ya'll with this adorable picture of a little girl...

Happy Weekend!!

Diet Coke and the Gospel

Currently, I am sipping a wonderful Diet Coke and reading the Gospel Coalition blog. I find myself everyday, getting on to my igoogle, checking my email, then checking the mass amount of blogs I follow (Only about a handful of people I actually know), and then getting on Facebook. These things, especially the decor blogs tend to make me feel discontent with what I have right now in life. So, I decided that I was going to add the Gospel Coalition website to my daily reading. I really love reading blogs, and this one has a lot of good posts that get me thinking. And thinking about Biblically things and how to love my God more! Recently I have been struggling with where I am now in my life and learning to Trust HIM more. In learning more about My God and learning how much He loves me, I start to think about others more and less and less about myself, which causes me to see the MANY blessings He's put in my life. All it takes, is to not focus on me. Simple, huh?

In closing, I want to share one of my favorite blog posts from this site. Enjoy!

So, it's been raining a bit this weekend in IN, but today it is a beautiful 60 degrees and sunny. I love it when it is sunny and slightly chilly. Yesterday, I got to wear my rain boots which made the day a little bit happier. Now, I love my rain boots and the fact that they are plain navy blue and kind of look like Hunters. But oh man, would I LOVE to actually own some Hunter Wellington rain boots in green. :) I just don't love the big 'ole price of $115. SO this picture is me imagining myself in a cute little dress, outside in the sun, gardening in some beautiful green wellies. :)

Lifehouse's Everything Skit

We did this skit at church this morning and it was such a blessing!

What gets me every time, is that Jesus is drawing her to Himself throughout the entire skit. He's always there, we just let other things get in our way. Thankfully, He has abounding Grace to accept us back!!

Today I had a rude awakening...

but it was good! I actually really appreciated it.

Today was the start of stressing out over christmas presents, cleaning, and hanging out with friends. I often struggle with wanting to do EVERYTHING and to please EVERYONE! And I dislike that I have this struggle.

This is how the day started, but thankfully (so grateful for this) a dear friend talked to me about somethings they have seen me struggle with recently. I was very skeptical at the start of this conversation, but by the end..I was relieved! This dear friend deeply cared for me and was wanting to help me. She let me talk it out with her and ask questions and she did the hard thing, which resulted in a blessing. Just throughout the evening we were our normal selves and so much happier! How ironic, huh?

So now, I have an ultimate goal for the holiday season...to serve GOD first! And then focus on serving others. Already, I'm more excited about giving a gift to someone instead of worrying about if they'll like it or if I can make it perfect enough for them. Tonight I'm going to dig into the Scriptures and start off my Isaiah study and then read a book about pleasing people.

This dear friend shared some verses with me, that I would like to share with all of you:

PSALM 16:5-11
"The Lord is the portion of my inheritance and my cup; You support my lot.
The lines have fallen to me in pleasant places; indeed, my heritage is beautiful to me.
I will bless the Lord who has counseled me; indeed, my mind instructs me in the night.
I have set the Lord continually before me; because He is at my right hand, I will not be shaken. Therefore my heart is glad and my glory rejoices; my flesh also will dwell securely.
For You will not abandon my soul to Sheol; nor will You allow Your Holy One to undergo decay. You
will make known to me the path of life; in Your presence is fullness of joy;
in Your right hand, there are pleasures forever."
Love,

Rainy, but wonderful Thursday

homework, homework, sleep, exam, midterm, oh spend time with the bf, homework, homework, sleep, work. This seems to be a consistent cycle in my life currently, but as of 3 hours ago this life is put on hold and I get to go to Michigan for a wedding. =) Can't wait!

This morning I gave my first college speech...on ice skating. It went extremely well, which put me in a better mood for the rest of the day. I decided to treat myself to a non-fat pumpkin spice latte with light whip. mhmm mhmmm. Got to spend time with Reubs (the bf, pics to come soon) which was an added delight =). Then headed off to watch my Thursday kids.

They are so much fun =) We made balloon animals, flowers, and swords. K is an expert. (I wish I had my camera with me today...) K also made a sweet octopus for Reubs. Hope you guys have a wonderful Thursday!
