My Obsession

{I just love old men}
This week was/is finals week. Each morning for me consisted of brewing a pot of coffee and consuming lots of it! It pretty much was the only thing that got me through studying for psych. {Gosh, I hate that class.} I am definitely addicted to coffee and I love it. I'm pretty sure the guys in my OLS class think that I'm Lorelai Gilmore by now. [Apparently I get grumpy without my coffee] I am now starting to drink my coffee black more than normal. See, I'm such a coffee lover that I drink my coffee in many different ways. The fact that I'm drinking my coffee black now proves that summer is on it's way. I usually only drink coffee that way in the summer. The creamer gets a little too sweet for the warmer seasons.
Anyways, my birthday is next week and I'm excited! Mainly, because I'm getting this beauty...
As i was browsing for pictures of coffee, I came across this darling handmade coffee sleeve. Yes, I am in love {hint, hint}
So, yes this post is super random. Mainly, because I have sooo many thoughts in my mind that I can't figure out to make a nice, beautiful post containing it all. I'll leave ya'll with this adorable picture of a little girl...
Happy Weekend!!

Diet Coke and the Gospel
Currently, I am sipping a wonderful Diet Coke and reading the Gospel Coalition blog. I find myself everyday, getting on to my igoogle, checking my email, then checking the mass amount of blogs I follow (Only about a handful of people I actually know), and then getting on Facebook. These things, especially the decor blogs tend to make me feel discontent with what I have right now in life. So, I decided that I was going to add the Gospel Coalition website to my daily reading. I really love reading blogs, and this one has a lot of good posts that get me thinking. And thinking about Biblically things and how to love my God more! Recently I have been struggling with where I am now in my life and learning to Trust HIM more. In learning more about My God and learning how much He loves me, I start to think about others more and less and less about myself, which causes me to see the MANY blessings He's put in my life. All it takes, is to not focus on me. Simple, huh?
In closing, I want to share one of my favorite blog posts from this site. Enjoy!

Lifehouse's Everything Skit
We did this skit at church this morning and it was such a blessing!
What gets me every time, is that Jesus is drawing her to Himself throughout the entire skit. He's always there, we just let other things get in our way. Thankfully, He has abounding Grace to accept us back!!

Today I had a rude awakening...
but it was good! I actually really appreciated it.
This is how the day started, but thankfully (so grateful for this) a dear friend talked to me about somethings they have seen me struggle with recently. I was very skeptical at the start of this conversation, but by the end..I was relieved! This dear friend deeply cared for me and was wanting to help me. She let me talk it out with her and ask questions and she did the hard thing, which resulted in a blessing. Just throughout the evening we were our normal selves and so much happier! How ironic, huh?
So now, I have an ultimate goal for the holiday season...to serve GOD first! And then focus on serving others. Already, I'm more excited about giving a gift to someone instead of worrying about if they'll like it or if I can make it perfect enough for them. Tonight I'm going to dig into the Scriptures and start off my Isaiah study and then read a book about pleasing people.
This dear friend shared some verses with me, that I would like to share with all of you:
Today was the start of stressing out over christmas presents, cleaning, and hanging out with friends. I often struggle with wanting to do EVERYTHING and to please EVERYONE! And I dislike that I have this struggle.

PSALM 16:5-11
"The Lord is the portion of my inheritance and my cup; You support my lot.
The lines have fallen to me in pleasant places; indeed, my heritage is beautiful to me.
I will bless the Lord who has counseled me; indeed, my mind instructs me in the night.
I have set the Lord continually before me; because He is at my right hand, I will not be shaken. Therefore my heart is glad and my glory rejoices; my flesh also will dwell securely.
For You will not abandon my soul to Sheol; nor will You allow Your Holy One to undergo decay. You
will make known to me the path of life; in Your presence is fullness of joy;
in Your right hand, there are pleasures forever."
Love,
